Frisco Media Room

Before

    After

This Custom and unique Frisco Media room was a full conversion of an upstairs open Game Room. The Media room started off with two square open doorways and two Open arch ways that over looked the stairs. These were reconstructed into two Arch Doors to match the Arches and two Arch cabinets to close off the room. New Carpet and a full bar with hand laid tile were also constructed in the room with 1.5 inch thick granite tops on all surfaces in the room. New Shutters were made for the windows to match the room as well. A 102 inch wide credenza with matching Hood to house the 100 inch screen was hand crafted and separated by 4 full 8 inch columns for a dramatic look. This is some of the best Custom woodworking in DFW.

All of the home theater equipment is hidden in the credenza behind closed doors as well as the Sunfire Subwoofer with down firing air vents to alleviate the need for grill cloth on the front of the credenza. The High quality Martin Logan speakers are tucked under the light troughs. One of the 5 lighting zones in the room including Fiber Optic Star panels in the custom coffered ceiling.

Plano Living Room Reworked

Before

After

This Plano TX flat panel installation had an end result that is breathtaking. It started out as a flat front wood fireplace and a cabinet on the side with pocket doors and a giant opening where the other projection tv was housed. The pocket doors did not match the doors above so replacing these was part of the install.

We cut out above the fireplace and built a structure to hold the new Heavy Sony LCD TV. We installed the TV in the new housing and a custom Plasma / LCD frame was built and painted to match for the front of the TV. We then built a shelf system for the home theater equipment and any extra space for the client with drawers below and doors that match the ones above. Programmed the custom remote control and put in system for equipment to be controlled behind closed doors.

Equipment List:

Sony 1080P LCD TV
Yamaha 5.1 Surround Sound Receiver
Customer existing Bose surround sound system
Universal Remote control

McKinney Cabinet upgrade and inset flat panel

Before

After

This McKinney TX Plasma TV installation did not start out as such. This customer called me to run a new HDMI cable from his equipment closet to his TV location for better picture quality. I quickly realized that it was impossible to run this wire without tearing up the walls and ceiling of his living room. Also I realized that the customer in fact had not ever seen HD on his 8 year old HDTV because it was hooked up wrong. His TV on it€s way out made me recommend a new Flat panel and to make it fit in his living room we could make a cabinet that would seem that it was there all along.

We used the existing wires there to transform the signal into an HD signal for the new TV using some of the new equipment that is available today. We removed the old projection TV and built a custom plasma TV inset cabinet with space below for extra storage. Cleaned up all of the wires with professional wire management and did a sound and video calibration. The closet under the stairs holds the Audio Video equipment.

Equipment List:

Panasonic 50" Plasma TV
Yamaha 5.1 surround sound receiver
Blu Ray DVD player
Universal Remote control

Martin Logan speaker upgrade and Amp

This high End Speaker system in Plano TX was a very unique situation. I was called in to complete a Martin Logan system which was a Large Electrostatic Center Channel speaker and two Small front speakers on wall. He just wanted some matching rear speakers for the system but I quickly realized the front speakers did not match the center and he would love to have some larger front speakers and we could use the now fronts as rear speakers. After a few weeks of going over details with him and listening he agreed and ended up buying a new Parasound Halo amplifier, Martin Logan Vantage Floor standing speakers and a Velodyne DD12 subwoofer.

We had to fix and replace the two wood wall panels after removing the front speakers and stained to match. Installed everything and did professional sound calibration with microphone for room pressurization as well as placement of Front speakers with floor markings to ensure proper bass, depth, accuracy and imaging. This is one of the best sounding surround sound systems in Dallas.

Equipment List:

Martin Logan Vantage floor standing speakers
Martin Logan Fresco ATF speakers
Martin Logan Cinema I center channel speaker
Parasound Halo 5x200 Power amp
Esoteric speaker cables and interconnects
Waiting on new Parasound Halo Pre amp with 5 HDMI inputs
Panamax high current surge protection
Panamax UPS for entire system, Home Theater rated UPS
Velodyne DD12 Subwoofer

StarWood Frisco Custom Room

Before

After

This beautiful Frisco TX Media room in Starwood, had many challenges and the need of Custom Woodworking as well. This media room had many windows and required either some sort of electronic shade system with black out windows or a projector and screen that could handle media rooms with windows. The room was tested with a light meter and the system was designed around the lighting situation first. The JVC DILA projector with its high contrast and great brightness was paired with the amazing Stewart filmscreen 110€ Firehawk G3. This screen and projector can be seen and watched in the middle of the day with the shutters closed and the room fairly bright.

The second major challenge was the projector location. There was no way to hang it from the gorgeous Coffered ceiling at 12 ft without compromising the room€s beauty. After much deliberation and drawings I designed a €Sofa Table€ if you will that matched the curvature of the couch and had granite inlays to match the home. This was a grand project and turned out gorgeous with a slide door over the projector and a 3 tier design to hide and house the projector in the upper section. This table also acts as a bar and on the sides added two more seats to the room tucked under the bar top. Storage was included in all spaces not being used by us for DVD€s and anything else the client can dream up.

The third challenge was the front of the room. As you can see in the before picture the front of the room had only a hole for the 80 inch projection TV that was there before and nothing matched above to the room. The speakers were too close together and there was minimal storage for equipment. We re-worked this entire wall and even fixed things such as the top 3 sections in the pattern and made 5 evenly spaced ones that matched the rest of the room going around. This finished wall with the 110 inch Stewart screen in it is very dramatic and beautiful. We also had new carpet put it to give it a media room feel.

The bedroom TV was a huge challenge, no pun intended. The 60 inch plasma weighing in at almost 200 lbs had to go in our custom built fireplace TV housing that used to house a 32inch tube TV. To keep the system clean we put the equipment in a closet 75 feet away and made custom cables and remote system for control to cover the length. There are 19 existing TV€s in the home all viewing the cameras in the home as well. 3 are seen here in custom spaces in the wall.

Equipment List:

JVC HD20 DILA projector
Stewart Filmscreen 110 inch Firehawk G3 screen
Yamaha Surround sound receiver
Martin Logan Vignette speakers for fronts and center
In ceiling rears hidden and painted
Panasonic Blu Ray player

Mx 980 custom programmed remote complete with children€s pages for favorite channels

Bedroom:

60 LG plasma
IR system for control
Custom cut and built lengths of cabling for HD use

Audiophile Media room upgrade and home office

Before

After

This High End Audio system in Plano TX using our other amazing brand, one of the best speakers in the world, Sonus Faber is a work of art in every sense. This client wanted a supreme sound system for his Home Office since he spends so much time there, as well as a fit for his media room. I knew the Sonus Faber speakers on stands would work perfectly above his desk in his office. And since they are one of most amazing and sought after speakers in the world I chose them for his Media room as well.

In both rooms we went with Sonus Faber Cremona auditor speakers and their matching 40lb stands. These were accompanied by their matching center channel speaker and rears in the media room as well as the amazing and world renowned REL Subwoofer system, England€s best subwoofers.

Both systems were accompanied by a Parasound Halo Amp 200x5 and High quality speaker wires and interconnects. This sound system was installed with great care and detail worthy of the sound it produces. There was also about 5-6 hours of Sound calibration for room pressurization and imaging. When you sit in his chair in his office it sounds as though the singer is sitting on the desk, the most amazing thing I have heard in a decade. The REL subs dialed in to compliment and not overpower. There are butt shakers in the seats in the media room.

Also there was only a table being used for equipment before so there was a custom cabinet built with an all black inside to compliment the equipment and give a clean look. The cabinet was matched and stained to match the fantastically designed speakers. The speakers are hand made and old world crafted in Italy by some of the most amazing artisans on Earth. And the sound matches and surpasses the look and feel if you can believe it. Call for a demo of Sonus Faber Cremona Speakers.

Plano Whole House system

This Plano TX whole house audio and video system was done over a few years. First a 17 inch LCD in the kitchen with hidden Sat box, control and HD. Then a Surround Sound system for the living room, followed by a whole house music system and a Game Room TV and Full bar construction. After the Kitchen TV our next project was to install a 50 inch plasma TV on the living room wall which is all wood wainscoting and cannot be fixed or patched up. A Polk Audio 5.1 surround sound system with in wall speakers was also put in the room to keep the room looking unchanged besides the TV. The home electronics were placed in a closet and wired from there. This closet also houses the Whole House music system and IPod dock. There are additional speakers in the dining room, outdoor patio, and game room all controlled from the remote in the living room and the Muting volume controls in each location for localized control.

There is a 42 inch LCD in the Game room on the wall and we built a full custom Bar with two wine coolers, sink and rack. All wood to match Chair rail and half wall wainscoting in the game room as well as the wood in the living room. Great care was taken to make sure the system looks and works seamlessly with the homes d€cor and flow.

Equipment List:

Onkyo Receiver 7.1
Polk Audio in ceiling speakers in Living room and smaller ones throughout home
Niles muting Volume controls
Panasonic Blu Ray player
50€ 1080P Plasma TV
